Gulu from olya Road

Gulu is the Northern City, located 320 km north of kampala uganda's capital city. This photo shows part of Gulu city as viewed from olya Road.

Acholis are the main inhabitants of Gulu City though other Tribes also exist, there are foreign nationals in the city too with congolese and sudanese being the majority.

The national census of 2002 estimates the population of Gulu at 119,430 and the national bureau of statistics puts it at 141,500 in 2008.

With the Lord resistance army in central africa, there is reduced violence in the region with almost 80 per cent of the citizen back in their homes from the internally displaced peoples camp.

Gulu is booming with bizness like never before and its now the economic Hub of Northern uganda.
